In a Martin Denny mold, Zorn has created a beautiful and exotic soundtrack with lyricism and a wry sense of humor.
Zorn on the film: "...the film played to me as a lighthearted comedy of errors, with deep moral overtones. The wisecracking commentary of the two sons throughout out makes the more than just another "roots" movie, and it is this mood that I've tried to accent in the music."
